They earn a living by practicing traditional local handcraft:
the production of a unique type of jewelry.
They receive very little compensation for a lot of hard work.
They must accept low prices for their products from distributors.
On behalf of producer groups anywhere in the world,
these women of Taxco and Tecalpulco are pioneering
an innovative Artisan Owned Direct Distribution Model (AODDM)
which will enable them to sell and deliver directly to retailers and consumers,
producing an advantage by cutting costs for both the customers and the artisans.
Other artisan neighbors need help generating work and income
projects
Tecalpulco Nabuurs propose to help them make a profitable ongoing business
by helping others apply the AODDM principles to their export enterprises.
The idea is to prove in principle the Artisan-Owned Direct
Distribution Model
so that other producers can be productive and be able to support their families.
