* General Obregon, Genral Lucio Blanco; I Thord Gray fought for all of these generals

* First hand accounts of Pancho Villa, how he narrowly escaped execution.

* How I. Thord-Gray worked with his trusty Tarahumaran scouts Pedro and Aguila.
They would ride out on the flank of the army as it came down the Sierra Madre
keeping a look out for federal troop formations making camp as it starts to get dark.
Thord-gray would go get some sleep while these guys would scout out on foot in the dark
coming back before dawn with field reports! thord-gray obviously deeply loved his scouts

The meeting with Emiliano Zapata in Tepoztlan where the great chief pretended to be another indian in a big meeting when Thord-Gray is supposed to deliver a pearl handled pistol as a gift from his General Lucio Blanco. They are told to wait for Zapata to arrive so they make use of the time to hike up to the pyramid that is still over that town in Morelos. What happens next is extraordinary.

If you want to know what was
the Mexican Revolution like?

Then read this...

"Ever since reading of Montezuma and his Aztec warriors when I was a boy I longed to visit Mexico, but this desire was not realized
until 1913 when the country was in the grip of a Civila War. About forty five years have elapsed since I left Mexico in 1914 to rejoin
the British army for World War I.

"The purpose of writing at this time is to try
and satisfy the seemingly increasing enthusiasm about Mexico aming the younger generation, and to encourage further knowledge of that country. The reader whould remember, however, that my notes were written as I saw it , not yesterday but half a century ago. ..."

This forgoing was written in 1960,
by I. Thord Gray

so it has been nearly a century now.
